I'm starting two freshwater tanks. One will be five gallons and hold one Red Tailed shark. The other one will be ten gallons and I am not sure what to put in it. What is you're FAVORITE small freshwater fish? IP: Logged |

I like to have some spinny eels in my smaller tank, It is fun to watch them swim and burrow under rocks. Pluss they clean up after your fish pretty well. The bigest they will get is no more than 8 inches. IP: Logged |

For ten gallons my choice is Bleeding Heart Tetras and Buenos Airies Tetras. Bleeding Hearts are cute the size you normally see them, but when they get about 1" in body size they are absolutely stunning. IP: Logged |

do African Dwarf frogs count?...I have two and they are fun to watch. I was also told they can be taught to eat out of your hand. Need to seal the top though as some people have said they like to escape--althought mine havent tried as of yet. IP: Logged |

I had a 10 gallon tank last year with one Oscar. As of now I have a 55 gallon with two oscars. They very quickly outgrew the 10 gallon. IP: Logged |

Definitely get a few threadfin rainbows if you can, they are one of the funniest fish to watch interact. Also they don't get big, and are relatively inexpensive. IP: Logged |

I love neon tetras, however I've never been able to keep them alive since my cat love to paw at the sides of the tank and they usually die of heart attacks IP: Logged |

I just recently got 6 tiger barbs and i love them. They seem to make swimming around a lot more fun than my other fish do. IP: Logged |
