I have had my Beta for 19 months. I purchased her/him (I don't know) 19 months ago. Last week she went to the bottom of her tank and she is laying on her side just breathing. At times I can get her to stir and move her tail, but I feel badly and wonder if she is suffering. She no longer is eating. Is 19 months a Beta's life span? Is there anything I can do? Thank you

I am not sure about the betta life span, but I had one that lived 2 1/2 years, and then others that only lived a few months. It sounds like yes, it is ready to go. I am not sure it is suffering, probably, but I always let all of my bettas die naturally!

Thank you for your responses. My beta died shortly after my post, but the info is beneficial for the future.
