I recently purchased 4 baby RBP's and I'm fairly new to piranha keeping. I've had them for a week now, they;re in a 75gallon tank. Yesterday, I notice that two of them had been nipped at, one had the bottom of its fin gone and the other has a wound on its eye, it looks pretty bad. Will the one with the eye wound heal? Is this normal for RBP's? what kind of medication should i be using? ------------------ [This message has been edited by t_h_e_s_a_c_k (edited 11-15-2003).] IP: Logged |

your fish should heal up all by them selfs mine had a big bight taken out of his head so i put him is a 10 tank to give him a brake from the other fish i just put him back in the 100 gallon he is doing fine now if you think its really bad or if they keep beating on him i will lend you my 10 and you can do that same thing but when you rbp are baby they will always get nips out of the tail if you have any more qus add me on your msn mattmccourt@hotmail.com IP: Logged |

You can speed up the healing process as well as prevent any bacterial infections by treating the tank with melafix. Your LFS should carry it. ------------------ IP: Logged |
