is it a good idea to keep 2 red bellied piranhas in a 60 gl tank once they are full grown?i know red bellies don't grow as large as other piranha species. their maximum size is usually 10-12" long.i had 2 red bellied pacus before and they were about 8" long and they look just fine together in a 60 gl tank.i want to know is it the same with piranhas?

Hey there, the rule of thumb is, that there should be 20 gal of water for each piranha. And also you should get another p because when there are only teo piranha's in the tank together they tend to fight alot because they are both trying to gain territory. and if you had three it makes them feel as if they would get picked on if they try and pick on only one of the p's.. Hope this helps and welcome to the site.. Alos you should check out piranha-fury.com I find all my info on there and the people on there are really cool and know everything about piranhas and they have cool pics and video as well. Its just like this site only better..
