i have got two juvenile red bellies in an 180 litre tank, in which i do a 30% water change weekly, using a gravel vac. Last night i noticed one of them has a small white patch on its head. From what i have read this looks like the early stages of fungus. i think this may have been caused by me leaving dead fish in the tank for too long after feeding (24hrs). i have read that rock salt can be used to treat fungus, although i am concerned that this will kill all my plants and also how it will affect the other piranha which has no ill signs. would appreciate advice on how to treat this and if i have made the right diagnosis. thanks

Hey man go with the aqarium salt. I use Doc Wellfish's brand and it worked great. Mine didn't have fungus but it did get part of its back bitten off and a part of its gills also, but when I used the salts in a week or so he was all better. And you should do an amonium test to check the parimeters if its too high it can be deadly. You should take food out around a hour after its been in there....It won't kill the plants I too have live plants in there adn mine are fine. Just add the right amount....
