I have two 7-inch red bellies in a 40 gallon breeder tank, 3 adolescent red's about 3 to 3 1/2 inches a piece in a 30 gallon long, one adolescent Gold piranha about 2 inches in a 10 gallon, and another Black diamond rhombeous piranha about 3 inches in a 10 gallon tank. I also have one 55 gallon pleco tank, and one 55 gallon community tank. Throughout my career, I have mixed and matched my fish to fing the outcome. With the red bellies, many fish are compatable. But it also matters how you raise your fish. If you raise your p's to be killers, then you have killers. If you raise them to be semi-aggressive then your in luck if your looking to add other fish. Your best bet is to add fish of the same native background such as pacu's and silver dollars yet, make sure they are decent sized. My two 7 inch piranha's have been my experimental fish. I've had silver dollar's, pleco's, bala sharks, irredescent sharks, convicts (which actually picked on the piranha's) gourami's, even some glow-light tetra's. If your nervous though, stick with native, South American fish, silver in color, or pleco's. And if your dealing with other species of piranha's, it aint gonna happen cuz these guys are natural born killaz!

hey piranha guy, you seem to know a lot about piranha's. I've got a red belly now thats a little under 5" in a 33 gallon tank. he's not too aggresive because I've kept black skirt tetras in with him/her and also danios. do you think I could put in another piranha of the same size?
