Last Sunday i set up my new tank, in it i placed a piece of boogwood, after i wahed and soaked it in water for three days.Firstly the wood was still floating, i placed a couple of stones on it, they told me that after some time it will settle. The second and most worrying thing is this white fluffy stuff that is growing on the wood its getting wore by the day.it is more appeareant on the edges, were the wood was cut.Do u know what thi thing is??

You have two replies from the first time you posted about this.
I also vote for fungus. pull the wood out and wash it hot water and scrape it off. I had a chunk of driftwood for awhile that never was able to be without a big rock on top of it. I got tired of it being so messy and also the tannin stained water.
good luck

Hi, Claudia

Listen, throw that piece of fungus infected wood out, and buy a piece of treated wood for the aquarium. They have a piece of slate or at lease so type of rock already attached to it. Therefore you will have taken cared of both problems at the same time. By the way those pieces of wood I'm reffering to are very decorative. Most any tropical pet shop should either carry, and/or be able to order.
