hello i am buying and 5 year old 80 gal tank with a stand and canopy for $140. is it a good deal? IP: Logged |

Yes, it is a good deal. If the tank has been sitting dry (without water) for some time, I would suggest setting the tank up outside on a level surface and filling it 1/4 full for 24 hours, then half way for another 24 hours, and then filling it completely and setting for another day before setting it up inside. The reason being when a tank has set up dry for long periods of time the silicon tends to dry out and lose some of it's elasticity. By setting it up in this manner you allow the silicone to regain its elasticity without a sudden amount of pressure placed on it. It's better to have 80 gallons of water on the patio than on the living room floor. IP: Logged |
