I had just got a few convicts, and I was woundering if the darker stripes mean anything? Because 1 of them has real dark stripes and the others are pretty light.

The darker they are usually means they are the dominant one. The ones with the bumps on there forehead are males.

Females often have orange on their sides and their fins also have a mix of orange/yellow/green, especially when they are ready to spawn.
my male is pretty dark but my female can get just as dark and has the addition of all the sparkly orange and other colors- if you look closely.
