I just put my yabbie in his new tank, and I plan on buying some fishy to go in there too. The thing is, my new tank has this weird rock background on it, that enables Ferny to climb up the wall. I need to know if he would be able to catch top water fish because of the rock background? I have seen him be able to climb out of the water because of it. So I want to make sure it's okay to put the fish in, and they wont get eaten. Also what kind of fish would be good to put in there? I plan on buying some guppie so he can catch them, but I need to know what kinds would be good that wont get eaten, and wont eat him. IP: Logged |

We had a crawfish inour tank and he did eat anything he could get a hold of including my 2 inch irridescent shark. He never bothered, or got a hold of the catfish, they are very durable, or our placostamous. Crawfish can go for prey very quickly so i wouldn't put anything in there with him that you will be crushed over if it gets eaten. You might want to feed him alot too. Mine ate bologna, shrimp, dog food, anything really. IP: Logged |

Thanks, that helps a lot. I saw some catfish at the pet store today, but they were rather small, so i didn't buy any, or any fish yet. I did though, buy him some comet goldfish to eat, because the lady there said that's what she fed hers, I planned on buying guppie for him, but she said they were too big. I think it's kind of cruel to let him kill the poor things, but i guess that's what animals do... IP: Logged |
