hi i have a 3 year old pacu. she is 14" i call her a she because she hasnt grown as fast as my friends pacus who are younger but have grown bigger. anyways. i feed her super sinking cichlid sticks. hikari pellets. but she especially loves those algae wafers. she even takes them from my fingers. i try to mix up her diet so last night i tried raisins....loves those to. as treats in the past i have fed her grapes, unsalted preztels, chicken, hamburger, beefheart and, even hot dogs. oh and she ate 2 of my algae eaters. so now she has no friends cause she eats them all. im wondering what other people have fed there pacus. im always curious to how much these gentle giants will eat. Pacus can be frickin' pigs. Mine will eat pretty much anything i give it except live fish. Mine likes algae wafers too... at 14" you might be able to introduce dog food into the diet. Many people with large pacus feed them dog food. You should give it a try. IP: Logged |
