I have nearly perfected my fish keeping and enjoy healthy fish but no matter what my plants are poor and brown and slough off alot of dead stuff.I have only used large amounts of flourescent lighting (full spectrum and grow lights) as I cannot afford halide or fancier stuff.I do fertilizing per intructions on the bottle.I even had one setup that got a couple of hours of full sunlight that made no diff.

Sounds kind of like me. I can't keep plants alive in a tank no matter what I do. I can throw it into my pond outside and it will flourish without me doing anything. You might think about putting in a pond outside.

Have you tried the sword plants? I have found them to be very hardy with no special care. wendttii is also very good.
