hello again i have 4 rbp in a 100 gallon tank iv had them for about 3 and a half years and there about 7'' long and i was wondering what i can do to make them breed i also was also wondering if i could keep some baby piranhas in with them any info would be great IP: Logged |

If your males are darker and pairing off with a female, and the female with eventually make a nest by moving gravel around and she'll pair off with the male for periods of time and guard it, takes the eggs like 4 days to hatch when their laid. You should remove them then or get a fry pen if your going to keep them in with parents. IP: Logged |

yea, sumtimes in stores they have bottled liquids that can help speed of the courting etc. these helpo creta the enviroment that they breed in. usually the bottles are only a few bucks. IP: Logged |

I haven't bred them so I can't tell you for sure, but from what I've read gradually raise the tank temperature to about 84 degrees and then lower it back down gradually. You don't want to do this too quickly or you will just end up giving them ick. IP: Logged |
