don't know if anyone can help but i recently got two gold fish and they are both about an inch maybe an inch and a half long. Over the past couple of days one of them has gained a couple of dark marks on its tail and a couple on the fins? is this normal and is it just going through a colour change? the marks have become more apparent since i first noticed them. The same fish is also chasing the other one around abit and is looking very healthy still.

Most likly its not a color change but some type of fungis growing on the fish. What i would do is go too your local pet store and tell them the problem. They should know what is going on. they will give you some type of silotion hopfully sometime they dont know what there talking about but they mite help you...

Goldfish can change colour, but I would hesitate to say that's what this is. Mine turned more gold and lost their black markings as they got older. Are the spots raised, spreading, fuzzy or hard looking? You may want to isolate him if possible to keep a possible infection from spreading to your other fish.
