Hey first of all thank you to those who read and reply. Ok I have a 55 gal with 3 piranhas who are aprox 7 months old, and oscar who is 8 months old, two rope fishes, 6 mel johanes cychlids i just picked up 2 days ago- 3 male 3 female, and 1 of the yellow cychlids lol forgot scientific name. Anyways I just picked up a Dragon Eel god how ugly it is(not the saltwater multicolored crazy looking thing) I looked all over the net for Dragon Eel info, all i got was info on the other species that actually look like a dragon. I found a couple sights with the actual fish i have on it although they call it a Dragon fish or Violet fish if i remember... and the pics of theirs were violet...i saw several sights like this.. mine is a brownish tope color... Does anyone have one of these creatures.. if so could you give me a reply on how to care for these things.. And with my basic setup should i go brackish a little bit? Can the piranhas handle a little salt? can the oscar? i read the other cycchlids should.. and if so how much salt should i put in. Oh ya and if you wondering how the little cychlids dont get eaten by the piranha or oscars well first of all the piranha show no sign of wanting to eat them but the Oscar went at them so many times when i first put them in.. thank god he was so full from eating he was slow.. So i went and got a bunch of feild rock to make some territory caves for them.. each fish has their own luxiourious cave. THANKS FOR READING THIS FREAKIGN LONG POST WITH A A LOT OF INFO (PICS TO COME SOON)

I would not keep anything with the pirahnas. Period. No matter how big a goldfish I throw in with mine, he always eats them, and not quickly, either. He usually eats the tails and lets the bodies swim around for DAYS. Also, I put up a plastic divider, and bought two younger pirhanas, trying to grow them for company for my big brat. They weasled through the divider and were eaten on the spot. He even had 20 feeders to occupy him. Didn't matter one bit. If you like your fish, get another tank and move them away from the pirahna. As for your dragon fish question. I have never had much luck keeping them alive, but they do eat frozen food and small feeders. Good luck. IP: Logged |

The only fish my piranhas have game problems to is the oscar.. they bit off his bottom lip during feeding time, that was about a month ago.. they havnt done anything since, hardly even eaten even... they dont even mess with the small cichlids.. they even let them stay in their cave IP: Logged |
