can 2 red pacus and a stunted five inch dempsey live together in a 55.(just those three) I mean can the pacus grow to their maximum size in there. right now my pacus are 10 months old and are about 12 inches in with a 9 inch oscar a 5 inch oscar and the dempsey and some plecos in a 55 I planning get rid of the two oscars so that the pacus and depsey can have more space. and so the oscars can have a bigger less crowded home and be happy. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I always try to go above the required size to keep the fish happy. Can they live in it? Sure. Is it right? I guess that's an opinion. If they are already 12 inches long that's as wide as the fifty five right so if they grow say even an inch there longer than the tank is wide. I would personally go with a 75 gal. Just my opinion though. ------------------ IP: Logged |
