There's a Chinese restaraunt about six blocks from my apartment with a horribly over filled tank. The fish are decorative (gourami, oscars, and others) so I really doubt they could use the excuse the Chinese fish and seafood markets use about Chinese people having a very long and ancient tradition of eating very fresh fish(complicated but big deal and source of controversy here).

My mom was hungry after a day's shopping so we went to this place for dinner...she's in a power wheel chair so wanted to sit out of the way of the employees and other customers(courteous isn't she?)...so we sat in the corner next to the aquarium. It looks to me like it can't be much larger than 60 or 75 gallons(I'm not very good with math but I know what the really big tanks look like and this isn't a really big tank).

Understand the tank was crowded when we went to the restaraunt a previous time but I only talked about it with my mom(we love all animals). I thought there's no way so many fish could be happy in the tank...there's one in the tank that's so large he's almost the same length as the tank...he of course is the bully but I know it's not his fault...he's stuck cramped in an overpopulated tank and it doesn't really even have enough room for him turn without bending himself almost in half...he was taking it out on the other fish the first time we were there and I thought surely the owners would notice and remedy the situation...how could they not? Well they've not only not remedied the situation they've made it worse. They started with two Oscars both the usual black and orange in color and hiding behind a large piece of wood in terror of the enourmous silver one I can't identify because I've never seen one so big and maybe I'm just not familiar with the species, and three what I think are gourami(same as the virtual pet fish but real fish), plus a beautiful bottom feeder I can't remember the name of his species but he has lovely markings. All those fish were allready large and had really run out of enough room and the big bully was beating up on them...So what did the ignorant(I hope they're just ignorant and not evil)owners do?
They added more fish!!! What I think are opal gourami and some that look like albino(don't know the variety) oscars. The tank is like a concentration camp for fish...All but the bottom feeder have big chunks bitten out where bully boy has gone after them...I think they're miserable and after the bully(I still don't know his species) attacked several of them while we were sitting there after our meal arrived believe me when I say I took maybe one more bite of my food to give the appearance I was just full and not disgusted when we left(angry and sad over the conditions of the fish). I think I should get evidence in case the overworked animal care and control doesn't get there soon.

Plan of attack as follows:
A covert operation, my mother and I will put on our nicest outfits and lie and say it's her birthday...that way they can't pitch a bitch when I take photo's of her next to their "beatiful" aquarium for her to send to her family back home in Missouri...yeah right...I don't know if animal care and control will do anything so unless someone beats me to the punch I'm going to send the resulting pictures to the local news papers and get them to the local t.v. stations for their reporters to go over and hopefully report about. Is this a good idea?
