just wondering if anyone knew what it means if your chiclids are digging out caves bigger. we have a blue kenya (spelling?) and we have a few small caves made in the tank. he started to bullie a big goldfish that was in the tank so we got rid of the goldfish and right way he started digging out one of the caves. I think he just wants more room, or is this a mating thing or something else?

I think they just like to dig around. it's nice to provide lots of little caves, but no matter how much you provide, they still might dig to make it their own ; )
most of my cichlids havne't been digging, but a couple have rearranged a little. I figure they just like to "make it home".

I have three that "dig". My female red devil is the most active one at this. She is a good house keeper not allowing the smallest rock to remain in her cave. This keeps her very busy everytime I change the water because I always end up brushing a few in her cave.
