I have one red belly pirnaha now in a 30 gallon tank. he's a little over 4 inches now and I want to get another. is it possiable to introduce one now? and if so, should the new piranha be bigger, smaller, or around the same size? I don't have much cover right now but I plan on getting alot more before getting another piranha anyway. hope someone can help me with this. thanks! IP: Logged |

The larger the tank and the more covering you have the better your chances are of getting away with it. Your tank only being 30 gal. I would say that if you do get away with it your going to need a larger tank soon. If you add another be sure to keep up with water changes on a regular basis intil you upgrade to a larger tank. In my experiance the existing fish is going to be the territorial one of the bunch so the newbie should be at least his/her size. ------------------ IP: Logged |

thanks, I don't plan on having piranhas for a long time. I'm just going to have them untill they get to about 6 or 7 inches because one of my friends is opening a pet store soon and he wants them. do you think I'll need a bigger tank for them? IP: Logged |
