The Red-tail Cat is pretty but will eventually get too large for your tank and would also have the Green Terror for lunch. Tiger Shovelnose will get about 4' and probably have the Terror for lunch. Probably the best selection is the slightly smaller Sorubim Lima (Shovelnose). The Sourbim is not as aggressive as the others and gets to be about 2'. Another possible choice is the Bala Catfish. More or less the same coloration as the Bala Sharks with a body shape similar to Channel Cats and a smaller mouth where he won't swollow the Green Terror. IP: Logged |

how fast do they grow? i was reading that green terrors grow slow about a year to reach full size. will the lesser aggesive catfish be alright with the more aggresive Terror? also what kind of enviroment do they like to live in? rocky? planted? i dont really like the look of a planted tank. right now i have a couple artificial logs and some really neat rocks with holes in the for the terror to hid in. The Red-tail Cat grows extremely fast and likes the base of plants or the hollow of a log. The Tiger Shovelnose grows very quickly and likes to be horizontal among plants or a log. The Sorubim Lima is a slow grower and likes to headstand next to the main stalk of a plant, or headstand or get horizontal with a log or log branch. The Bala Cat (Columbian) has modrate growth rate and swims continuously. I don't have a Green Terror so I can't tell you for sure about him bothering any of these but my Jack Dempsey has never bothered any of them. Maybe that will give you a clue. When setting up a tank they get my preference. I like to set up a natural looking tank with rock, artificial plants and artificial logs or wood. This should give every fish in the tank a place where he is comfortable and is pleasing to my eyes. In Europe they are going to completely natural tanks with real wood and live plants. Knowing the potential problems of PH and fungus with decaying organics I choose to use artificial. IP: Logged |

the green terrors have different personalitys just like oscars and jack's so it's almost impossable to tell but if the catfish is a far bit bigger it probly won't bother it to much IP: Logged |

The pictus cat is supposed to be a little less aggresive than the shovel nose cat. My pictus brings much enjoyment! IP: Logged |
