The bubbles mean he might want to mate you should try putting a female betta in a cup or tank next to his and if he starts flaring up and the female starts swimming in a downward S motion after 1 or 2 weeks and is full of eggs she is probably ready to breed so put her in the males tank without breaking the bubblenest. Once in the same tank the male will probably hurt the female a little when they start to embrace, it might take a few times and once you see eggs fall out off the female take her out or the male will kill her the male will tend to the eggs for a few days then once they are free swimming take the male out. As far as the not swimming around very much thats normal. Some of mine will just sit in one spot for hours. I hope this helped.

Yes, that's what the bubble nest means, but no you don't have to run out and buy a female for him. Its just a sign that he's happy, and bettas will only mate if they're happy. They also don't move around much. Don't worry.

i wouldnt suggest putting a female in with him. the bubbles just mean hes ready but putting a female in whith him isnt the best thing if oyur not expirienced. also they will fight and one will end up dying . the bubbles are a bubble nest where when there is a girl he picks up the eggs she lays and puts them in the bubbles. if hes laying on his side then he is probably sick and if ther is a female she will probably kill him.
