Hi, We have two 10 gal tanks. One has a thriving gold fish in it. NO filter and only filled half way with water. The other has a small Corydoras catfish and a small Algae eater (pleco?) in it. It has a filter, Light and heater. All have been in their tanks about a year. Is there a way we could put the gold fish in the tank with the other two fish and sucessfully create conditions to suit all of them ? I know temperature would be the main concern. We are becoming limited in space and this was an option we wanted to check out. Thank you for any suggestions. IP: Logged |

Aclimate the goldfish into the tank with the Cory and Pleco. No problem. Although goldfish are coldwater fish they will survive warmer water very well. I've got Comets in my pond that have been in there for 4 years and have spawned repeatedly. During the summer here the pond temperatures average 88 degrees. Your tank temperature should be in the range of 75 to 80 degrees, constant. The main thing is to keep the temperature stable. IP: Logged |
