i have two oscars a tiger and a albino oscar there about the same size 2.5in. long i just got one of them about 5 days ago the tiger oscar and i just got the albino oscar 3 days ago and all they do is lay at the bottom off the tank and i have just noticed that my albino's tail is like twitching back and forth then stops then twitches agin i think it just started and i was wondering if anybody knows why it would be doing this and if it is messed up or not and the tank is ok the temp. is at 74-76 degrese.

Jim,

I had an oscar do the same thing when I brought him home. He stayed at the bottom of the tank not moving for almost 5 days. I raised the temp to 79-80 and it got him moving a bit. The water might be a little on the cold side for them, or they just may take a little time to get used to the tank. I wouldn't rule out some sort of dissease or amonia or ph or something along those lines. I assume your tank was cycled properly before you put them in? Check your levels. Hope this helps.

thanks a lot and yes my tank was cycled properly and i know it's ok because my two red belly pacu's my pleco my tinfoil barb and my algea eater is ok but my other oscar is also laying at the bottom of the tank doing nothing and it's not really eating but i geuss that is because he isn't use to his new home thanks again.

It sounds like the Oscars are new to the tank and the Pacus are somewhat larger than the 2.5" Oscars. They are probably a little bit intimidated by the Pacus. Give them a little bit of time and they should snap out of it.
