Oscars get real big and need room.if you put them in a 40 gallon tank with 4 piranha which also get big they will have no room and will kill each other IP: Logged |

First, pay no attention to the icon. Just been dieing to use it since they put it up. Now, with regard to the Oscars and Piranhas; A 66 gallon is still too small for 4 full grown Piranhas not to mention an Oscar. IP: Logged |

i would put no more than 2 piranha in a 66 gal. tank or 2 oscar for that matter. you might want to pick different fish as a hobby cause these fish you have high maintenance. and you seem to be a novice at this. maybe you should research your fish before buying them. IP: Logged |

One oscar BY ITSELF needs at least 55 gallons. And unless you have a HUGE aquarium (like several hundred gallons), I wouldn't put an oscar in with piranhas. -Chelle IP: Logged |

the answer is very simple...NO NO NO. The piranah will gang up on the oscar and a massacre will occur. IP: Logged |

One oscar in a 44 is a no go. simply too small of a space for a full grown fish. Plain and simple. IP: Logged |

you definatly can not put an oscar with 4 pirhanas in a 55 gallon tank. i tried mixing 5 small pirhana with one oscar of a larger size in a 75 gallon tank, and he didn't last 4 days. don't do it, he will get eaten. IP: Logged |

thier was a natinal Geographic that had a topic about oscars and pirahna saying that in a huge tank oscars with Defind tail spots would do well but oscars with a faded 1 would get eaten tail up. this is what i read but i still would not take the chance. lol why not go with silver dollers and an oscar in like a 80 gal tank. silver dollers look alot like their cousins ------------------ early bird gets the worm! but the second mouse gets the chesse!
