hello everybody, im new to the board. i was wondering if anyone in here has an australian electric blue lobster (cherax)or knows where i can purchase or order one. i live in new york and they'r pretty hard to come by. any information would be greatly appreciated. thanx

i just purchased an australian blue lobster from petco in carson city, nv. if you have a petco nearby you might give them a try. mine is a beauty...bright electric blue and about 2". hope you find one!

I have seen them for sale in one of the local fish stores here on the prairies. I imagine a good aquarium store in New York should be able to get one, even if they order it for you. It may not be available because of legal reasons (certain species not being allowed to be sold in certain places). Again, a local fish store could help you with that.

Iam from New Hampshire, I also have seen the australian blue lobsters in Petco. I thought there were great. But was not ready for one. now that iam they dont have any more. Iam still waiting for them to reorder more. Ive been searching in my area and have not seen anything like the beautiful blue ones that petco had. ask a store about ordering you one. Good Luck

I love mine. he's still doing great. be careful not to medicate your tank with a lobster in there. he also likes a cave to hide in during the day.
