Hello Fish-Noobie, From your nickname here and your description of the tank I assume you are new to the hobby. First, Iridescent Sharks (Pangasius Catfish) are not the easiest fish for a beginner to take care of. You will find that they will soon outgrow a 10 gallon tank. A 10 gallon is better suited to small tropicals like Tetras, Danios, Mollies, Guppies and smaller catfish like Juli's. These questions might help you find the reason they are on their sides. When you set up the tank did you add anything to the water to remove chlorine/chloramine? Did you add anything to the water to buffer the PH? When you brought the fish home did you float the bag they were in, in the tank for 15 to 20 minutes to aclimate (adjust) them to the temperature of the tank? If you did not buffer the PH, did you after floating the bag for 15 to 20 minutes, open the bag and add 1 cup of water from the tank to the bag every 10 minutes until you had twice as much water in the bag than what you started with, to aclimate (adjust) them to the PH in the tank? Regarding feeding, I think that you will find what they will most readily eat is frozen brine shrimp or especially frozen blood worms. Remember not to feed them more than what they will eat in 5 minutes.
The above questions are basic guidelines. Ask your local pet shop for guidance on how to aclimate fish into your tank or show you how. If they can't help you or don't have time to answer those questions for you, you need to find another pet shop in your area that will. Also you can always get help here, but it will be a little bit easier to understand working directly with your local pet shop. Be patient and don't get discouraged. There will be things to learn but you'll enjoy it once you get the hang of it.

well.. if dont know half of the things you were talking about... but all i did was got some sink water form the sink (of course) and then pour it in my tank. I washed the newly rocks for the floor outside i think it is clean, and i didn't wait that long though about 2-4 minutes... and got a knife slashed the bag, and pour the 2 Pangasius Catfish in then, i just waited they were on the floor side ways. And also blood worms aren they for betta? and i haerd Pangasius Catfish liked vegetables form. And to answer your question about the smaller fish, i already bought my 2 Pangasius Catfish... yea i know it sux nooo! and no refunds! damit! and they never eat they always in the bottom.. on thier sides and sometimes they move around (sometimes) oh yea about the floating bag i just layed it there for 3 minutes or so... damn am really impatient hehe, also i dont think the pet store owner i go to know much... i think you know more then they do... they gave me the wrong food can u belive that..? and they so rude! they didn't let me pick the fish i wanted to just swap the weak ones, am like " why they on their sides" his like " tehy just tired, its ok" also i aplogize for this jumbled up repsonse.. am sry its jsut that am so in to this and its late, and i tired ect.. well thank you, OH YEA! almost forgot HI kc5gvn and bye now i gusee yea am really a noobie ^^

Hi Fish-noobie,
It sounds like you need to start by getting rid of that chlorine first. Go to the pet store and buy some "tap water conditioner", There are several brands to choose from but I recommend maximum or super strength, the brand is not that important. The directions are very important read them carefully. They will probably say something like add one drop per gallon. For ten gallon tank that would be ten drops but read carefully and find out for sure how big your tank is. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Your going to need more help once you get rid of the chlorine but do that first. Chlorine is like poison to a fish and comes in most tap (sink) water.Again let us know when you get this done.

P.S I don't think I would buy anymore fish from this fish store. They did you wrong!
