Hi everyone.

I just set up an account here at auspet and so far it looks really cewl. Alot of you guys really sound like you are well educated on fish as well as other animals on the the othere boards.

Any way I have a 40 gal tank set up with cichlids I was wondering if any of you could tell me what the specific name is of one of them. It is shaped long and narrow like most cichlids and it is yellow with black stripes all the way down to its tail. They are very common at the pet stores around here but no one seems to be able to tell me the exact name of it.

in the pet stores around here they sell them as "BumbleBee Cichlids" im not sure on the scientific name.

I could be wrong but it sounds like an african cichlid try this link, there's pics of fish there that match your descripion.
