hey all, im new to this whole forum thing and i just got a quick question. I have been thinking for a while about getting piranhas. I just want to know about how many gallons of water I would need for a single Piranha. Also is it better to keep them seperatly or in a group.

Thanks

i assume you're talking about red bellies, they usually do best in schools of 3 or more, singles usually are very shy and will get picked on by other fish in the tank, especially cichlids or other fast moving aggressive fish. i'm not sure of other varietys of piranha but i heard that some like the blacks will kill each other if the tanks not big enough

for 1 alone probably as small as a 29 until he gets big, and for 3 nothing smaller than 50
