Hey I'm new here but am not new to keeping fish. I've always found that "melafix" works really well. Most lfs carry it. IP: Logged |

I can't tell you for sure about the MOST effective but I can give you my preferences. I am partial to the Mardel products because I have found them to be effective and the safest to use without the toxic effects associated with medications. I don't have a bottle of fungus eliminator so I can't say for sure what the contents are, but your description of yellow powder leads me to believe it contains Tetracycline. With Tetracycline you must remember after 5 days of treating with Tetracycline it starts to become toxic in the tank and you must do a water change. I only use Tetracycline or products that contain copper as a last resort because of the complications associated with them. By the way, my main reason for using Mardel products is that you can combine the parasite meds and fungus meds without any complications. They are the only line of products I know of that you can do that with without any complications. Hope this helps. IP: Logged |
