the next time you decide to add another fish to your tank.before you buy it check with someone at the pet shop or here.that way you won't lose any more fish. IP: Logged |

From your description it sounds like the people at the pet shop didn't aclimate them into their tanks properly. Just as a note, it's best to watch the fish in their tanks for several days to make sure the fish are alright. I know it's hard sometimes when there is a fish that you want and you want to get it before someone else does but it's best to wait. By the way, fish can go into PH shock up to 2 weeks after they have been aclimated. IP: Logged |

I've never run across anything that would terrorize a Pacu except for possibly a Clarus (walking catfish) which is notorius for mameing other fish. A Red tail cat the same size as the Pacu might give it a hard time by trying to eat it. From other posts I've seen you might want to avoid a Flowerhorn. Other than those you're basically unlimited. I would suggest however, given his size, to add fish that are 4" or more in length so he doesn't try to feed off of them. Also Pacus tend to be fin strippers on fish with flowing fins such as viel-tail Angels and Arowanas. Hope this helps. [This message has been edited by kc5gvn (edited 07-22-2003).] IP: Logged |
