hey guys i just bought a tiger oscar at 3 and a half inches and i put the bag and the oscar in the tank for 40 minutes. THEN I waited for 40 minutes and i opened it and i went strait to the bottom and is just sitting there. is it becuase of stress and will he eventually swim around or should i get him another oscar so he has friends bye IP: Logged |

hey thanks for the replie in the same tank i have a red tail catfish and a tinfoil barb and the new oscar my red tail is 6 and a half inches long and the tin foil is 4 and a half inches long.the catfish kinda chases the oscar because hes a new guy should i buy another oscar as a tank mate as a buddie so he can have someone oh i have 2 tinfoil barbs not 1 so the catfish doesn't chase them eventually i will have to sell the red tailed cat and then i will raise my oscars and tinfoil barbs. and again should i get another tiger oscar thanks again----red tailed catfish rule---- IP: Logged |

you could buy another oscar but the catfish would probably chase the new one too.but once the catfish gets used to the oscar it won't chase it as much. IP: Logged |

Definately stress. You aclimated him to the tank temperature but not PH, ammonia, nitrates, nitrites and all of the trace elements in your tank. Remember all of these are measured in parts per million. IP: Logged |
