The white fog is your fishes slime coating suspended in the water caused by PH burn. Your tank was apparently fairly acid in PH before you did the water change. The water you added was highly alkaline. The large change in PH burned the protective slime coating off of your fish and the milky color is very small particles of your fishes slime coating. You can dose the tank with a PH buffer to help replace your fishes slime coat. (My personal preference is Novaqua.) There are several different products you can use to clear up the cloudiness. What I have used that worked well was made by Jungle. I think it's called Clear Water. I'm not for certain since it's been a long time since I've had to use it. I use Novaqua with every water change. You also need to watch for cottony patches on your fish with a burn like that. If they develop cottony patches you will need to treat for fungus. Hope this helps. IP: Logged |
