Hello everyone
As I stated in a previous post I had a pacu given to me. I also baught 2 very small cichlids and 1 large cichlid to go with him. My wife told me to take a few fish out of her tank and put in mine dispite the fact she has tetras and guppies in her tank I did it anyway because her tank was to crowded and I figured my pacu and cichlids would get a good meal out of them. So I scooped out one neon, 2 baby guppies and 2 black tetras and put them in my tank. Well all the tetras and both guppies are still alive but the pacu ate one of the small cichlids.
My question is that this dont make any sence to me shouldnt the pacu have eaten one of the guppies or tetras and left the cichlid alone seeing as how the cichlids are aggressive???

Some one please shine some light on this for me so I can keep my other baby cichlid from getting eatin too.

Target of opportunity. The tetras and guppies were faster than the cichlid.

yea thats the best statement but the chiclids give of a color to the pacu and sees it as food or as a enemy.
