I have had 4 guppies for about 5 weeks now and they seem to be rubbing themselves against rooks and gravel in the tank. One of them died last night. I can't see any redness or growths on their bodies. They have been doing this for a bout a week and I was wondering if they may have a parasite or something. Has anyone ever seen this before? Do I have something to worry about? All you help is very much appreciated. IP: Logged |

I don't have guppies, but I know that that behavior in other fishes is called "flashing" and can be a sign that ich is coming.. do your fish have little white salt looking dots on them? I'd try a water change and some ich treatment. I've always found it an easy disease to treat. good luck! IP: Logged |

You can also take your water to a pet store like Petco or petsmart and tehy will test your water and tell you everything you need to know. If you call ahead you can see if anyone knows about your particular fish and if they do you can take one in and they will give you advise (but i suggest you get if from a few stores just to make sure). GOOD LUCK IP: Logged |
