Hi all, We havea a 150 Gallon fish tank, we have had it set up for 3 weeks before putting any fish into it. We put 4 Medium Size Gold fish (2 goldfish 2 With Brain on top of head) & One Black Molly. The fish seemed to be happy as can be @ first, now 2 weeks later seems everyone is laying @ ground level ecept at feeding time, they are fins done, sulking on the bottom of the tank. I don't wnat to loose my fish nor do I want them unhappy.. so any and all suggestions are welcome!!! Thank you in advance IP: Logged |

Before you follow this advice, take a water sample in to your local pet store and have it tested to verify what I suspect! From your description this is a totally new setup with fish in it for 2 weeks. That would mean it is in it's second week of an amonia/nitrate cycle. The amonia is probably just about peaked out. I suspect the PH is probably high (above 8.0). High amonia and high Ph make for a stressful situation. You can buffer the PH with several different products to help ease them through the cycle. My personal preference in PH buffers is Novaqua. AGAIN, TAKE A WATER SAMPLE IN TO BE TESTED BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS ADVICE. IP: Logged |

i think your ammonia is to high because i'm pretty sure your not supposed to put goldfish in with mollies. goldfish produce alot of ammonia in the water.and mollies can't handle to much IP: Logged |
