Water does not hold oxygen as well at warmer temperatures. The warmer temperatures will also speed up your fish's metabolism. It's easy to tell when your Pacu starts to stress from the warmer water; he will begin to breath rapidly or more heavily. The only method I know of for an aquarium is floating ice cubes on top but you might as well dose the tank with ich medication. The best way to cool an outside pond is by adding a fountain. I've never experimented with this but it might be a possible solution given the way a sprinkler fountain works in a pond. Increase the air supply to the tank until it really churns up the water. This breaks the surface water which has a cooling effect plus it will add more oxygen to the water. Who knows it might work. If you try it I would like to know how it worked.
