Went to the aquarium fish store on Rt. 9 in Toms River just south of the home depot. In my opinion this store ripped me off big time. Told the owner (Mike) that I was new to this and he sold me a ehiem filter for $380 bucks, then sold me the media to go inside which was the wrong media according to Ehiem. I got the 2229 (advertised everwhere online for $199-$209 and then got ceramic noodles which are not supposed to go into this model. Went to bring it back and was shown a 3 inch by 5 inch index card with "Store Credit Only" on it which was water stained and barely legible. Live and learn I guess. Anyway, I just had to let you know that the filter, the ehiem 2229 wet dry professional model is great (from my beginners eyes) but if you buy it there you will find it tough to look at knowing how ripped off you were. I guess I wouldn't be as disappointed with Toms River Aquariums on Route 9 but getting the wrong stuff to go in the $180 overcharged item will never sit well. Beware of Mike! IP: Logged |
