i have recently noticed these tiny, probably about 1 mm in length each, worm like things on the glass of my aquarimu. they are everywhere... hundreds. probably thousands of them, there doesn;t seem to be anything wrong though in the tank witht he fish or anything, but it can't be a good thing... in the tank i have 3 6" rbp's and i have fed them a number of raw meets, incl. feeder goldfish, krill, beefheart, and ground beef (im thinkin maybe there was some type of worm in the meat???) If nayone has any adivse i would greatly appreciate it or maybe one of you has had this happen before??? thanks a lot. IP: Logged |

The reason they keep coming back is because they are not just on the glass they are also in the gravel in your aquarium. IP: Logged |

I had this happen to one of my tanks. The solution is simple, but you have to be very careful. Get a small holding tank, and place all your fish in it. Once all the fish are out, drain at least half the water. Take about 1/4 cup of bleach and pour it into the tank. Stir the gravel very well. Let the bleach sit in the tank for about 10 minutes. Now, here's the tricky part. You're probably going to have to use a whole bottle of water conditioner to nullify the bleach. After you've poured the water conditioner in, let that sit for another 10 minutes. (Ask someone else to smell the tank to make sure the bleach is gone, because you'll probably have the bleach smell on you and you won't be able to tell.) Then, completely drain all the water from your tank. And refill it as regular. IP: Logged |

i appreciate your reply and do think that it will work... but i am very understandably hesitant to pour some clorox into my tank until i know its the last resort... i figured they would sell some type of solution to pour in that will kill parasites and not harm the fish, they seem fine... im not even sure whether or not these are harming anything or what they even do lol. Does anyone know what they could even be called? IP: Logged |

i did scrape the glass and then vacuum the tank well a couple of times... the worms seem to disapear for that day but then the next day they are back. I have not tried an antiparasite solutions yet as i do not know what to get... do you have any recommendations? IP: Logged |

the one time I used an antiparasite I used some liquid in a bottle. it was the cheapest and worked fine. they also sell antibac and antifung in tall white bottles 3 inches or so high. I can't remember the brand.. I would guess anything would work fine. good luck! IP: Logged |

the worms are planarians.you can get rid of them by plasing some choped meat in a gauze bag and leave it over night and in the morning you will have a good number of them in the bag complet the proses until al the worms arte gon. IP: Logged |
