I feed mine cocktail shrimp & feeder fish. Be careful with the feeder fish though. If they're diseased, they can wipe out your entire school. I have a separate 12 gallon aquarium set up just for feeders. All the sick feeders usually die before the third day having them. If I were you I'd start off with dry food from the pet store. It's safer and healthier for the fish. I would feed my piranhas dry food but they're used to eating meat so they wont eat the dry stuff. IP: Logged |

Oscar sent me this: Don't feed any fish any type of beef product, it is way too high in fat and their digestive systems will be overwhelmed. As far as feeding your piranhas fish, forget it, it is just a matter of time before they will get a disease and you'll lose your whole tank's stock. It's best to stay with the freeze dreid things that you can get from your fish dealer, and turkey is the best choice for animal meats. Hope this helps. IP: Logged |
