WOW!SLOW DOWN THERE!piranhas shoud not be your first fish, espishuly if there are the carniverous types.get guppies or gold fish first they are easy to care for.If you want to get a carniveruous fish, then get an oscar or snake head instead. IP: Logged |

let me clairify, I'm not that new to the fish world, I have an oscar. I'm just interested in piranha's and was wondering what it took. I should have clarified that before saying anything else. Sorry!!! I still need to know how to really take care of them. I can read all the books on them and get 50 different answers. Anyone with expierence please let me know what works for you. i have a 90gallon tank. i have a titanium heater with digital temp read out. i can get the temperature exactly how i want it. also a titanium heater unlike glass, wont break and has no chance of electtricuting your fish. its a little pricy but sooooo worth it. IP: Logged |

Okay i would agree with silver on the titanium heater but they arnt pricy at all. if u look they are cheeper than glass, and yes they wont break. as for filter i'd get a fluval 404 very nice. and will take care of a 75. as for P's... the normal starter type is the red belly. if u get them get like 5 or so and as they grow they will kill the weak ones and u will be left with some good adults. they are real skidish and hide all day. spilos i hear are better. if i were goin to get P's again id go with a elongated p but he will need more room than a 75. good luck.
