I need help. urgently. I have a 7 inch 1 yr. old Oscar. I recently moved him from a 20 gal (I know!) to a 50 gal tank. I have a Whisper 60 power filter and the temp is at 80 degrees. Tonight, in the last 3 hours, he's been having these uncontrolled spasms, like seizures that happen every 10-15 minutes. He thrashes around so violently that he's got quite a few gashes and bruises on his face. He started doing this about 10 days ago in the 20 gal. I moved him on thursday and has been doing fine since. Until now. PLEASE, if anyone knows what is happening and if I can help him, PLEASE email me or respond as soon as possible! I'm afraid he might not make it through the night! Jessica IP: Logged |

my oscar did that too. We transfered him into a bigger aquarium and he would attack the glass walls. He even knocked open the aquarium lid and jumped out onto the floor a few times. He's settled down now. Now he gets angry at his gravel and puts the gravel all to one side of the tank... weird fish. IP: Logged |

well i think that a 55g is still a little bit too small....u should either consider a bigger tank or better filter....i dont know if u know that oscars are messy eaters and will leave a big mess that will soon turn into ammonia...hope it gets better IP: Logged |
