try floating oscar pellets or stable food tablets, or crickets and worms.

It's too young for feeders. Try small pellets for a staple and for a treat try frozen brine shrimp.

DO NOT GIVE IT FEEDERS!

As I've said about a million times already:
Feeder fish have very little nutritional value, are a great way to introduce diseases to your tank, cause your water to get dirty a lot faster, and can cause intestinal blockages which can kill the fish.

The best diet of an oscars is a good quality pellet food such as Hikari, New Life Spectrum, or HBH's oscar foods. As occasional treats you can give them a variety of insects (avoid things like spiders and anything that might have been exposed to pesticides), earthworms, mealworms, and shrimp.

dont feed a a steady diet of beef! you can give it to them as an occasional treat once a month maybe!! oscars have trouble digesting meats beef, chicken, etc and shouldnt be fed it every day.

"i feed mine mostly all pellets."

That's what mine get too. I buy Wardley Cichlid Pellets, Tetra Cichlid Sticks, Hikari Staple & Golc, and HBH Oscar Show and mix it all up in a big container so each time I feed them, they get a nice variety. For occasional treats they get earthworms, frozen salad shrimp (from the sea food dept of Walmart - MUCH cheaper than freeze dried krill), meal worms, and triops (small crustaceans). I keep meaning to get some crickets from the LFS, but I always forget when I'm there.
