Hello all you fish people. I am goin to set up a 35 gal tank for fresh water and I was wondering what would be better. Undergravel filtering system OR one of those big one that hangs from the back of your tank. Maybe there is ones out there better then both if so please let me know. IP: Logged |

I use a power filter that hangs on the back. My aquarium is in my room, so it needs to be quiet at night. A filter that hangs on the back is really quiet, and I prefer it. Ashley IP: Logged |

I would use the hang on back filter. Just make sure you get one big enough for your tank it should filter your water 4 or five times an hour. on a 35 gal it should move 140 to 175 gals an hour. also imho it's better to over filter than under filter. hope this helps mike IP: Logged |
