Hello, I am new to this forum and I am glad that i found it. I have a desperate situation in that, I have had my redtail for 3 years and he has always done well and is about 26". I was feeding him raw shrimp from my retaurant and switched him over to live comet feeders for the last two weeks. I came home about an hour ago and he was gasping for air at the surface and showed signs of inflamed gills ( No redness or bleeding) and some red markings as well as if his skin is peeling. I tested the water and all checks out. Thier is also another large cat (Sailfin) that shares the tank since they were both about 6" and he is fine. It is almost 1am and I don;t know what my options are at this point. I was going to try a salt bath, this will be a task for this size fish. Any help would be appriciated.
