i have recenly obtained betta fish. i have read up as much as i could to gain knowledge but can not seem to find an answer to why a female betta would attach herself to the tail of the male betta. a few days after they were place in the same tank together i noticed the tail of the male looking as though it had been shredded. i thought maybe it had gotten caught in the pump of the tank. the next day i notice that the female was hanging on to the tail of the male as he swam the tank. what is going on? i did not know he female would do this to the male.
