Hi, I just bought a pair of guppies Monday. The female looks pregnate. I had them in with my gold fish at first but took them out for now. Would it be ok to put them back with the gold fish? Anyway, back to my real question. The female guppie is pregnate. How should I go about handling this so tha the babies surive? I don't know how long she has been pregnate or how long gestation for a guppie is. Any advice would be appricated. IP: Logged |

see if you can buy a birthing tank from your pet shop, its like a small box that floats in the water, and there's a grid that goes half way down into the box, so the baby guppies will fall under the grid and out of the way of the female, you can usually tell when the fish will give birth as the black dot on the back of her belly will get bigger and darker. hope this helps!
