can anyone help me? i would like to keep red bellied piranhas, but how easy are they to look after?

how you doing. first of all, dont be too discouraged. i bought 3 red bellies back in november 2002. the size of silver dollars. now they are the size of oranges! healthy as well, all in a 30 gal tank. when i first read about them, i thought they would be tough to raise. not a problem. however, they are sensitive to light. what i did to aleviate this problem, i cut a piece of aluminum foil to the size of the glass on the lid. poked several pin size holes through, and placed the light on top. as the piranha got older, i slowly increased the size of the holes. also, i was warned not to restrict them to feeders, as feeders are known to carry disease. what i do, is isolate the feeders for 2-3 days in a 10 gal. feedind them top fin flakes. if any are sick, they usually kick in this time. when i feed the piranha, i give them bio pure krill, along with the feeders. not to deny them the vitamins. as i said earlier, they are healthy and beautiful. i have 3 so one doesnt bully the other. no problems yet, and hopefully, none to come. good luck.

im actually fnding it really easy. Ive never had fish before, and i didnt know shit about em. I got 5 red bellys and they were pretty tiny, theyve all gotten like 30% larger. taking care of em is easy, all u really need to worry about is doing water changes and cleaning the gravel. And since u do it all the same time in the same step, its even easier
