I actually have a SailFin Pleco, and a Jack Dempsey in a 45 Gallon Tank with two Electric Yellow Labidochromis, a male and a female Jewel Cichlid, a Male and Female OB Peacock, and a Pictus Cat. They have been together for 2-3 months and are having no problems...Casper IP: Logged |

i moved a regular 5" pleco from an Oscar tank to my African Cichlid tank when i purched a nice Sail Fin for the Oscars. Everything was fine for a month untill my old pleco in the African tank vanished. I diddn't think this was at all possible for cichlids to take down a pleco like that due to the "armor" they have . . . guess i was wrong IP: Logged |

I have an african malawi tank with 10 fishes all mixed. They tore up the pleco that I tried putting in there. There is just no place to hide from a malawi cichlid as they love rocks and hiding places. I have kept plecos with cichlids from lake tangyanika and south american cichlids. Malawis are just too agressive! IP: Logged |
