is ok to feed your oscars earthworms straight out your yard? I've did it once out of curiousity, but is ok to feed worms again? IP: Logged |

I still say that a worm from my yard killed my 12 inch severum. Probably some fertilizer from the yard, or insecticide was in the earthworm. I wouldn't risk it if I were you. IP: Logged |

i feed my two oscars, red and a albino earthworms all the time. I just wash them off in the sink first. IP: Logged |

We have a compost in our backyard where we raised bait for fishing trips until our Oscars came along. Now their favorite food is the earthworms from the compost. I believe they would eat them until they burst if I didn't maitain two or three per feeding. I have wondered about possibly introducing something deadly, so I wash the worms in the sink and only give my Oscars active worms. If they don't wiggle I throw them out. I have tried feeding them frozen krill. They turn their 'noses' up to it. IP: Logged |
