Whats up everyone, Im kinda new to this hole thing but im hoping that with experts like you guys I can get on the right track. Ok, well I have 2 red Bellied Pirahnas in a 20 gal long tank. One is about 3.5 inches and the other is 2.5 to 3 inches, a lil smaller. I just put the smaller Pirahna in the tank about 3 or 4 weeks ago and everything seemed to be working ou good, no fighting or anything. They just swam next to each other like it was all good. I came home one day to see that the smaller of the 2 pirahnas had a lil bite takin outta him on his side. So far everything is ok. hes acting fine and all that good stuff, but I was wondering if you guys would know if the wound will heal or what? Like I said im new to this. nothing has happened after "the incident" they are still swimmin like everything is fine. Just curious about what i should do if anything. They are always well fed and well taken care of, I'm that the smaller of the 2 was just in the right place at the wrong time...hehehe Lookin forward to your guys remarks, thanks again everyone. yo, i currently have two red bellied piranah in a 30 g tank. There used to be three but during a short vacation the bigger two took the smaller one out. so yeah they can turn cannabalistic. As for the cure to the bite try some of the stress coat or aloe you can get at your local pet store. Don't be afraid to ask there as most pet store people know quite a bit too. --shawn ps feeding em without dry spells so they don't go cannabalistic again would probably be good IP: Logged |

You don't have to add anything. Piranhas self-heal on majority of bites to body. Piranhas form school of equal size and if one is larger than the other, biting as you saw happens. Your tank is also to small and they will eventually eat each other up or at least leave some nasty bites to each other. IP: Logged |
